  • Philosophy take in what is needed and being mindful of it
  • First tell yourself what kind of person you like to be, then do what you have to do. Act to get what you want
  • Show not tell what you know
  • Spending on what’s worth is impressive
  • Work on your mind and guiding reason
  • Human excellence: who you praise without prejudice, the just, even tempered, self controlled
  • To have a guaranteed good day, do good things
  • The right things to do come from your reasoned choices
  • Seize the day wholeheartedly as you have one shot at today
  • Those who lack self control lead a disoriented and disturbed life
  • Peace of mind comes from doing nothing wrong
  • Kindness is invincible and the right response
  • Every habit is confirmed and grows in your corresponding actions or state of mind
  • Focus on how you respond, not what happened to you
  • Don’t let your happiness be determined by things you cannot control
  • Don’t set your mind on the things you don’t possess
  • Count the blessings you actually possess and how much you would desire them if they weren’t already yours
  • Count the days you haven’t been angry or lose your temper
  • The stoic is a work in progress and needs serious training daily. Learn, practice and train
  • Pay attention to what is in front of you: the principle, the task or what is being portrayed. How you do anything is how you do everything
  • Quality over quantity for books and things in life
  • You can start today, not tomorrow
  • Make your own good fortune with the right decisions and preparation , focusing on doing the right things at the right time and diligence
  • Joy for humans lies in acts of kindness, disdain for the stirring of senses, identifying trustworthy impressions
  • Stop caring what people think
  • Think about what you think, think about the results, about the impact, about whether it is the right thing to do
  • Well being is realized by small steps so think about the little things and small choices. Choose the right way, not easy way
  • Before you act, don’t get worked up.  Carefully consider the task at hand for what it is while remembering the purpose and principles you value most
  • Work nourishes noble minds
  • Before you act, evaluate what you are doing, why you are doing it and what accomplishing it will take you. Stop if you don’t have a answer
