Gaining clarity for personal and financial health

Gaining clarity in both personal and financial health is about understanding what truly matters and aligning actions with core values. It involves self-reflection, cutting through distractions, and making intentional choices that support long-term well-being.

In personal life, clarity means recognizing meaningful relationships, setting boundaries, and prioritizing growth over fleeting connections. Financially, it requires assessing needs versus wants, managing resources wisely, and building a sustainable future rather than chasing short-term gratification.

Clarity empowers better decision-making, reducing stress and fostering a sense of control over one's life and goals.

Here are key points to help you gain clarity in your daily life.

Control & choice: Differentiate what I can change (things within my control) and cannot change to be happy and avoid unwinnable battle.

Path to happiness is giving up what is outside your control, choice and regard nothing else as your possession

Focus on what is in your control. Your choices, what are they. Evaluate them, how will you make the most of them

The only thing in your control is your mind, choices and will

Make wise choices using reason and judgement

You can control your reasoned choices, opinion, what you think about the situation, desire, aversion and everything of your own doing

Circle of control: your choices, your will, your mind.

Education is freedom: Time spent to gain knowledge is wiser and knowledge is freedom

Say no: The more you say no to the things that don’t matter, the more you can say yes to the things that do.

Perception, action, will:

  • Control your perception and have certainty for judgment in the present moment
  • Direct your actions properly
  • Have proper judgement using reason to have clarity and be steady. Use reason to see things clearly to make good judgment

Willingly accept what is outside your control

Direct your reach inwards: my opinion, choice, desire, aversion, and everything of my own doing is within my control

Clarify your intentions: Begin with an end in mind and let your efforts be directed to something

Proper work of the mind: make a choice of doing and thinking right, refusing temptations, yearning to be better, repulsing negativity, bad influences and what isn’t true, preparing for what lies ahead, purpose (guiding principle and highest priority) and to be free of deception about what is inside and outside of your control (and to accept it)

Abstain: Give up harmless indulgences, habits and addictions

Seek steadiness, stability, and tranquility: filter the outside world through proper judgment & choices for clarity, unwavering and firm judgement, believing in yourself and trusting that you are in the right path, clarity of vision, not comparing yourself with others, identifying your path and sticking to it, staying the course while making adjustments.

Not being a pawn to temptations: Pay careful attention which needs work and awareness

Common opinion is an uncertain guide.

Be clear of your vision: Identify your path, stay the course, make adjustments. Ignore the distractions

Never do anything out of habit: Know why you do what you do and do it for the right reason.

Ask what is the best way to do something. Examine your motivation before you act. Make sure it is for the right reason, Not because you haven’t stop to think or believe you have to do something

Reboot the real work: Don’t be intimidated as you have the best teachers. Ask what is at stake if you fail. Begin the work, the rest will follow. Focus on what is in front of you and do each task with dignity

Seeing the world: There is clarity and joy in seeing what others can’t see, in finding grace and harmony in places others overlook

Reignite: The past is the past. You can reignite and restart whenever you like

Ritualized reflection: Take time to look inwards and examine. Example what you did, what you thought, what could be improved, how am I better, what you value, what desires need to be kept in check, what bad habits did I curb, were my actions just, what you like to work on, what contributed to my happiness, what detracted from it, recall events of precious day.

Real learning: push for deep understanding, not to agree with something said too quickly, not stop at the surface, absorb knowledge, find clarity and strength in words, read attentively and deeply

Being wise and good

  • Desires: Seek clarity in what you love the most in the world, live below your financial means to be free. Consider what you should desire and what you should be averse to. Want what is good. Avoid what is bad.
  • Impulses to act: act deliberately for good reasons and not carelessly
  • Judgment: ability to see things clearly and properly comes from reason.
